Pastor Marc

Week 78 of the 2 Year Bible Reading Plan

Dear Church Family,
Here are the readings for this week;
Monday – Mark 9:1-50
Tuesday – Mark 10:1-52
Wednesday – Mark 11:1-33
Thursday – Mark 12:1-13:37
Friday – Mark 14:1-72
Saturday – Mark 15:1-47
Key Verse: Mark 10:42-45 “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles  lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for  many.”
Jesus both teaches and sets the perfect example of what Christian leadership is all about; serving and sacrificing for the benefit of others rather than seeking to have power and control over others.
From the Lutheran Study Bible: “Jesus puts our welfare and needs ahead of His own as He conducts His ministry, showing us what real leadership is. Jesus shows that those who lead in the kingdom of God serve others in humility. He leads by laying down His life as the sacrifice for our sins and calls us to similar sacrifice.”
Blessings on your reading,
Pastor Marc

Sunday, November 24th

Dear Church Family,
Believe it or not, this Sunday is fellowship Sunday.  Please bring a treat to share with your neighbor.  The time in between 1st and 2nd service (9:30-10:15am) will be dedicated to fellowship, so plan on staying after 1st service or coming early before 2nd service.
Blessings and I hope to see everyone at worship and fellowship this Sunday,
Pastor Marc
