Week 87 of the 2 Year Bible Reading Plan

Dear Church Family,
Here are the readings for this week;
Monday – Romans 7:1-25
Tuesday – Romans 8:1-39
Wednesday – Romans 9:1-11:36
Thursday – Romans 12:1-21
Friday – Romans 13:1-14:23
Saturday – Romans 15:1-16:27
Point to Ponder: In Romans 7, the Apostle Paul says “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate… For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.”  Thank God that Paul is honest about his struggles! We can be honest too 🙂
We’ve all been there, and we all continue to visit this sad state of affairs on a regular basis. Together we confess “our sinful nature is ever-present and our struggles go on!”  But, at the conclusion of Romans 7, Paul declares “wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”  Through Jesus Christ, we are delivered from the power of sin and we are forgiven. That’s good news for this wretched sinner!  It’s good news for all of us.
Blessings on your reading,
Pastor Marc

Sunday, January 26th

Dear Church Family,
BRRRRRRRRRRRR.  I hope everybody is staying warm!  I’m contemplating being a “seasonal pastor” and heading south for the winter.  Anybody want to come along?  Just a reminder; this Sunday is fellowship Sunday so bring your favorite comfort food to share with your neighbor.
In this week’s sermon, we’ll be discussing the “Great Light” that has come and changes the way we view everything.  I hope to see all of you at worship and Bible study this Sunday.
Pastor Marc

Week 86 of the 2 Year Bible Reading Plan

Dear Church Family,
Here are the readings for this week;
Monday – Acts 24:1-26:32
Tuesday – Acts 27:1-28:31
Wednesday – Romans 1:1-2:29
Thursday – Romans 3:1-4:25
Friday – Romans 5:1-21
Saturday – Romans 6:1-23
Reminder: As of today, I’ve received 35 envelopes with your “One Wish for 2014.”  That leaves about 50 envelopes to go. If you were absent from church on 1/5/14 or if you need a refresher on the assignment, here it is one more time… 1) go to, 2) listen to the sermon from 1-5-14 “One Wish for 2014” 3) do the assignment, and 4) turn it in to me.  If you need an envelope/sermon insert, let me know.
Blessings on your reading for this week,
